Crockpot Applesauce

Oh fall is officially here and what better time to break out the crockpot and enjoy some savory + easy to make foods, right? I love nothing more than a nice chilly day and turning on the crockpot for some simple foods. Today I’m excited to show you just that…. a simple Crockpot Applesauce recipe. I’m not fooling either when I say simple, truly using only 5 ingredients.

My kiddos love eating applesauce. Although I don’t like buying from the store, because there is so much sugar in the store bought jars. Not that I haven’t been seen purchasing a jar a time or two, believe me, I have. I am just excited to create my own version, one that the kids absolutely love too!

Are you ready to find out what you need? Then let’s get the crockpot out and get started.

Here’s What You Will Need:

6 Medium Apples

1/2 Cup of Water

1 Tsp - Cinnamon

1 Tbsp - Sugar

1/2 Tsp - Vanilla Extract

First, cut, peel, and core your apples, then place into your crockpot. I like to cut ours into chunky pieces but if you like a creamier applesauce you can always dice up your apples even more.

Next add the last of your ingredients into the crockpot and turn on LOW.

Cover, and let cook inside the crockpot on LOW for at least 4 hours.

After 4 hours and the apples are soft to your liking, grab your hand mixer and whip the ingredients together until smooth. Depending on the size of your apple chunks when you started, this recipe may have a thicker/chunkier consistency. It’s a delicious recipe I guarantee you and your family will enjoy.

If you and your kids enjoy applesauce and one with less sugar and a little healthier, I’m sure you’ll enjoy today’s recipe. You can store your applesauce in the refrigerator in an air tight container until you serve. Enjoy eating some with your next meal, or as a snack.

After making your crockpot applesauce I’d love to hear what you think. It’s a simple recipe you can throw into the crockpot and serve later which is great for busy families or even if you’re just ready for fall.

Have you tried making crockpot applesauce before? Let me know what you serve yours with, I’d love to try it next time.
