Today I’m excited to share some super cute circus birthday party ideas with you. I’m super duper excited to share today’s post, because today’s party is one that a dear friend created. Her name is Cece, she loves to party plan and decorate just as much as I do…maybe more, well she’s certainly better at it, than myself. So I had to share her amazing party ideas with you.
Cece recently hosted her daughter Emelin’s 1st Birthday party, and oh-wow was it ah-mazing! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it to this festive Circus Birthday Party, but I could tell by her photos what a great job she did planning. From all the details of decorating, the food ideas, cake, and party favors this Circus Birthday Party was a big hit!
If you’re planning a party for your child or school, this theme has endless possibilities. Here are just a few of my favorites to share with you today. I guarantee you’ll find some inspiration for your next party.
When your guests arrive to your party enjoy a super creative and unique entryway sign. This is an easy to create chalkboard sign using the template from Crackers and Carrots and then using your own font from Dafont. You can easily create your own message and then send to print at your local printer, have this made in poster size usually under $5.00.
She also created a sign similar to showcase her daughters 1st year in photos. Using the same background from Crackers and Carrots, and then print your own photographs. Then all you have to do is glue or tape your photos into place for a great birthday collage.
This is a great way to share some of your favorite photos during the party.
Here’s another great entryway sign you can easily create, by using large poster board, colorful wrapping paper, & some fonts of your choice from Dafont. If you want to add circus animals like in our photo, you can find those from The Graphics Fairy. Glue them onto the board and you’re set.
Now of course your guests want to enjoy some festive and flavorful party foods. No circus themed party would be complete without all the popcorn, cotton candy, cake, and mounds of delicious foods, of course. There was no shortage of those party favorites here.
Here are some simple ways to decorate and add some pizzazz to your party food and tables.
Place your cotton candy cups in a bucket of your choice, then add some fun embellishments like ticket printouts, cards, and a fun little table-card to let your guests know what each food item happens to be. You can also find plastic circus type animals to display on the table, we found these at The Dollar Store.
To create the numbers, grab your favorite scrapbook paper and pick a font online that works best for you. Print your number or wording onto your scrapbook paper. This one was embellished with a pom-pom and held up using a toothpick.
Using raffle tickets to embellish the table setting cards is the perfect touch to your circus themed party. I just love these cards.
To create some simple signs for the food display and for the games. Check out these awesome free printables from Eclectic Momsense. I am in love with these printables, and you can add your own unique font onto a blank printable that’s provided in your download. You can use that printout for your food tables.
To make a popcorn bar you can purchase popcorn bags or boxes at most party stores or online. Luckily they aren’t very expensive and usually come in a pack of 12.
Cake pops of course are a must at any birthday party…. circus theme included. Use assorted striped straws to create the sticks, add some pom-poms to the top for a little added flair. To add a flag to your straws, find a font you like and print out a whole sheet of your wording or number, cut and wrap around your sticks.
Popcorn cupcakes are another fun addition to this amazing birthday party. You can find the tutorial to make these super creative cupcakes over at Kids Birthday Parties. To display your delicious cupcakes, use a cake stand from Oriental Trading Company, that’s where the one below was purchased. To find popcorn cupcake holders try your local party store or do a quick online search.
Here’s a great idea to decorate your table. Use this adorable printable from Eighteen25 with your food displayed nearby. Love the colors and the super sweet birthday quote.
Here are a few of the game ideas. Again using the printable from Eclectic Momsense. Props for the game can be whatever you have on hand or check out your local dollar store for rubber duckies and net.
Another fun game idea called Knock em’ Down. Use 16oz water bottles filled with different colored water or sodas.
Of course I had to share a picture of the sweet birthday girl and her mom, Cece….Meet sweet Emelin and her mom who I’ve also been friends with since we were in middle school, yikes I’m getting old…. But, great friends also know how to throw great birthday parties.
And, of course no party is complete without an amazing birthday cake. This one featured was baked, decorated, and created all homemade. This was made from the heart, by the birthday girls aunt. What a great job, right?!!! I’m honestly wishing they lived closer, because I’d like one of these amazing cakes for our next birthday party.
I hope you found some great ideas to host your next circus themed birthday party. I have to say thank you to Cece and her family for sharing such a special day with us. Letting us take a peek into their creativity and adorable birthday party.
I’m so excited I was able to share some simple and creative birthday party tips and tricks with you.
