♥Goals for June♥
It’s June at last…. Can you believe that summer is already here? May seemed to fly by between Mothers Day early in the month to Teacher Appreciation Week, then I blinked and it was Memorial Day. I must say May was a good month overall, I hope yours was too.
Last month was my first month of setting goals with you. I’m hope you were able to join me by adding some goals for yourself during May. If you missed last months goals, you can check them out here and be inspired to set some more this month with me.
My goals for last month:
Put my Phone Away more often (especially at bed-time with the kids)
Make a Date Night with my Hubby
Stop Helicoptering my Kids as Much
I think it’s safe to say I’m getting better at not helicoptering the kids as much, but of course they are my kiddos and I’ll always have an extra eye out for them.
Lets Start Setting Goals for the month of June
♥I will start by sharing my goals for June♥
♥Read a New Book
This month I’ll be reading the tween series Divergent. It’s now a movie, so of course I have to catch up and read this one + fast! I’m determined to get back into a good read this month. You have any suggestions for summer reads? I’d LOVE to hear. I’m always looking for good book to enjoy.
♥Get Moving - Exercise Daily
Okay, I’ll admit I do get busy and forget how great exercise actually feels, well….when I’m done at least. The weather is warming up and daylight is out much longer - no excuses to get out and enjoy it by moving, walking the dog, biking, running… anything to help stay in shape. My daughter loves to jump rope.. who knows maybe I’ll join in!
♥Go on Date Night
Are you ready to join me in making some goals together, we can do it! We can encourage one another. Check back in with me - we can encourage one another to stick with it or say that we at least tried our best.

I’m working on giving my kids a little more independence as well. We have a fenced in yard but the fence is a chain link one and also goes around the front back and side of the yard so everything in the yard is visible from the street. I’m finally letting them go out some and play on their own, as long as they never go out of the gate and stay away from the fence. I do still watch them through the window. . . but at least they think they’re living it up outside by themselves haha. Sometimes its hard to believe that when I was growing up I used to run around the entire neighborhood like a crazy person and not see my mom all day long. I honestly don’t now how she handled that. . . perhaps there was just less scary stuff being announced back then. I’m sure there still was scary stuff happening, but we didn’t hear about every little thing like we do now. Anyway, baby steps. I doubt I will ever let me kids run free the way I did, but I can try to be a little less overprotective, right? Great goals, by the way

I totally agree Leilani. I would (and am) the same way with the kids in the yard. It’s hard because of course we want to give them the confidence and independence but not quite let go of certain things. I grew up the same way, I rode bikes, ran the neighborhood, and played till dark - now days I am the mom outside watching while they play in the front yard. I’m a worry wort at heart but maybe together we can encourage each other to give them a little more independence (slowly of course)… or shall I say baby steps
These sound like perfectly good goals. I think you can achieve them in a month. I think a date night is perfect for anyone. Everyone needs a little time to relax. Happy Monday.

Happy Monday Leslie! Thanks for stopping in. How did your May goals go? I know you were busy last month I hope you had some time to enjoy and now you’re ready for summer. Thanks for the motivation on my goals this month. I kept them reachable this month, probably because summer is starting and I know I’ll be busy with the kids more this month.
I love this idea, I am always trying to look at myself from the outside. See the real me and not the diluted, slightly biased view. Seeing where I should improve. I would have to say mine is getting more active, spending some time outside every day it is not raining. We only have so long of summer and brutal winters here so I try to take it in when I can. I love the one about phones. I was getting in the habit of carrying it around with me at home. Now I set it on the counter and if I have a moment I check it, otherwise not at all. I also always try to just enjoy life more. Enjoy the laughs with my kids, the crazy things they saw, my husband holding my hand, the breeze coming in the windows, cutting flowers from my garden. It all sounds so small but truly slowing down and enjoying it makes it better, and everything becomes more meaningful. Good luck on your goals!

Emily I absolutely love your ideas for getting outside and enjoying the simple things in life, because honestly those are the best.. I agree! Slowing down to enjoy the simple things are some of the best moments. You inspired me to do the same
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you get to enjoy lots of fresh air, walks, and fun times with your family this month.
Great goals! Especially the date night! I’m also planning on exercising more - it has been so hot here that the last thing I want to do is move! But, it’s starting to cool down enough, so it’s time to get moving!!

I know what you mean about exercise, as busy moms it can be hard because the last thing we want to do is go exercise, but I remind myself how much better I feel afterwards and the next day when I keep going. I hope you’re able to get out and enjoy some exercise this month too. Maybe a walk? (If it’s cool enough) Keep me posted, I’d love to hear how it’s going. Enjoy your week!
